For as long as I can remember I have wanted to be a mother. As I said in my first post, I had just begun to realize how difficult it is to be a mom to two kids. Well, I feel it more and more every day, and I have seriously questioned my abilities as a mom.
Yesterday I posted about our adventures at the state fair. Well, she fell fast asleep on the way home because we were out during her nap time. We put her down as soon as we got home and she went to sleep with no problems. Later that night before I went to bed I checked on her to see if she was comfortable in her bed. I was NOT expecting to see what I saw: Poop. Everywhere.
Steele’s only day off where we can go out as a family is Thursday, so we’ve tried to make an effort to spend quality time together this day. This week it was the State Fair!
I was a little nervous bringing my 3-week-old baby on such a warm day, but he did just fine! I made sure that he was shaded and I checked his temperature constantly. A few times I took him out so that he could feel the breeze and he really seemed to like that!
Emma loved the “ani-mo-lo-los” (animals)! It is so fun to see a child’s eyes light up as they discover new things!
I’m a Googler. Is that a word? It should be, because if I ever have a question I look it up on the good ‘ole search engine.
In the months leading up to Emma being born I did a lot of Googling on how to introduce our dog, Cooper, to her. I knew what I wanted to do and everything went exactly as planned.
Then in the weeks before Jake’s birth, I Googled how to introduce an older sibling to a baby. I even Googled baby dolls that I could get her so that she could play with her baby when I had to take care of Jake.
I love my life, let me tell you! My daughter (Emma) is almost 2 years old, and I had a baby boy (Jake) last month. I have wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember, and I’m living the dream.
But dang, it’s hard!
